You do! IPD provides web design and management services, but you own your site. This ownership extends to your domain name, site content and appropriate copyrights, if any.
What is a domain name and how do I get one?
Your domain name is your web site address. Each domain name is unique and made available on a first come-first served basis. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) controls domain name assignments.
IPD will work with you to register your desired domain name ending with .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .tv or .us.
Does IPD provide hosting services?
No. IPD is focused on providing high quality web design services. IPD will be happy to recommend a reliable 3rd party hosting provider and handle your hosting registration on your behalf. Some clients may have hosting services provided through an employer or even a friend. IPD leaves this choice up to you so as to provide you with the most flexible service available.
Can I sell things on my IPD site?
Yes! IPD can support e-commerce on your web site. There are multiple choices for processing financial transactions on your site, but we recommend PayPal®. Paypal is an industry leader in providing safe, secure and easy web-based transactions.
You may want to offer items for purchase or even collect contributions or donations for a special event.
We can open an PayPal account on your behalf if you like. Buttons are then placed on your site to allow customers to make purchases. Taxes and shipping can also be included! After each purchase, you will receive an e-mail notifying you that you have received an order and the funds have been deposited into your PayPal account. It's up to you to fill your customers' orders of course!
Once the order has been shipped, you can mark the order as shipped an an e-mail will be delivered to your customer automatically to let them know that their product is on the way. You can choose to leave your funds in your PayPal account or have them transfered into your bank account. Or, you can even request PayPal to mail you a check. PayPal makes it very easy and safe to do business on-line.

Can I set up on-line registrations for my special event?
Yes! IPD will work with you to set up registration services tailored to the needs of your event.
For events with registration fees and/or other financial transactions, we recommend Active.Com for your registration agent. Active.Com is an industry leader in providing safe, secure and easy web-based transactions.
We can open an Active.Com account on your behalf if you like. Links will then be placed on your site to allow visitors to sign up for your event and choose various options (selecting a t-shirt size or purchasing event merchandise, for example). Active.Com will keep you up-to-date on your registration details via e-mail. It's up to you to fulfill your registration orders of course!

How much will it cost to create my web site?
IPD keeps it simple. We bill per service hour (pro-rated to the nearest minute).
Depending on the size, complexity, features and on-going updates you want for your site, the bulk of your expense will likely be incurred when your site is created. Once you have your site "up and running," we will perform site updates per your request. You can spend as much - or as little - as you like!
Unlike some companies, we do NOT charge a "maintenance fee" for doing nothing. We only bill for service-hours rendered!
We bill on a monthly basis with invoices payable upon receipt. However, depending on your unique circumstances, we can often work with you to bill on a schedule convenient to your needs: quarterly, per project or even annually in some cases.
Other costs, not directly related to IPD services, may include hosting fees, the purchase of site licenses (for a copyrighted graphic, for example) or other special features from 3rd parties vendors.

Yes! IPD believes in supporting the important work of non-profit agencies, churches, community groups and other non-commercial enterprises.
We offer these groups a generous 50% discount off of our standard business service rate! Other charges, such as 3rd party hosting fees still apply at their regular rate.
Also, discounts of up to 25% are available for businesses who committ to a 12 month service contract. This contract locks in a discounted hourly rate based on the minimum hours of pre-paid service per month.

Are there any restrictions on IPD services?
Yes! IPD reserves the right of refusal of service. Specifically, IPD will not perform services for adult or X-rated sites or sites that promote an overtly racist, sexist, or hate-based agenda.
IPD reserves the right to terminate client services at any time without cause. In the event IPD becomes unwilling or unable to provide services to a client, written notification (via e-mail) will be given at the earliest practicle opportunity. But, remember, in the event of a discontinuance of service, you will still own your own domain name, site content and hosting account.
